What is CNC Turning?

CNC turning is a manufacturing process in which materials are spun at high speeds while a tool carefully removes the un-necessary material, leaving a clean, finished product.

Typically, CNC turning will be used to manufacture parts that are cylindrical.

Types of Turning Machines include:

Horizontal CNC Lathe:

One of the most commonly used machines. Horizontal CNC lathes have all of the capabilities of a conventional lathe, but is controlled using computer numerical control.

Vertical CNC Lathe:

Vertical CNC lathes works the same as a horizontal lathe, except the workpiece is held at the bottom.

CNC Turning Centre

CNC turning centres are advanced CNC machines that have the capacity to cut, mill, drill, tap and of course turn.
